Esteban's Road to España

Donation protected
Ever since he could talk, Esteban has loved to ask questions and learn about the world around him. With such an inquisitive and determined nature, it’s no surprise that Esteban has dreamed of traveling abroad to gain new and exciting experiences firsthand. And so, in his final year of college, he set out to pursue his passion and worked towards studying abroad in Spain. Unfortunately, Esteban's path towards traveling took an unexpected turn as he fell critically ill and became hospitalized. The doctors provided hope and encouragement to fuel his road to recovery, and even though Esteban fought hard every day, his health wasn't improving. Through the power of prayer and the support of his family, friends, doctors, and hospital staff, he miraculously beat the odds. Although he was released from the hospital days before his flight to Spain, tragically, he still wasn't well enough to travel. He spent the remainder of his Fall semester in continued health care at home.

With the grace of God and Esteban’s unwavering faith and perseverance, his health was restored and he was able to go back to school for his final Spring semester. While this life-changing experience has given him the opportunity to see and cherish life in a brand new way, he still hasn't lost his passion to travel abroad. Esteban has obtained an internship in Barcelona this summer and has applied for scholarships, but he still needs help. The Garza family humbly asks for your assistance to help Esteban achieve his dream. Your kind donations will help alleviate the cost of his expenses in Spain.

We are excited for this new adventure in Esteban's life. This journey will allow him to discover new passions while immersing in a new culture. Your contributions and ongoing support are deeply appreciated.

A note from Esteban:

My dream of traveling the world and living in new places almost became a reality last year as I was given the opportunity to study abroad in Madrid. But due to my health, I instead sat week after week in a hospital bed hoping that by some miracle I would be cured and could continue my journey abroad. The week I was finally released from the hospital would have been my first week living in Spain. My health was still of concern and I watched my dream come and go as I worked on recovery from home. Traveling to Spain gave me hope and kept me fighting.

With countless weeks of antibiotics and procedures that extended beyond my hospital stay, I beat the odds and was able to fully recover with no long term effects. I thank God for that miracle I patiently waited for. I was given a second chance at life and did not give up on my dreams. Now that my health is back in order, I have been presented with another opportunity to go to Spain, but this time in a different city and for a different reason. I will be interning abroad in Barcelona this summer and will finally see my dream become a reality. As life would have it, one door closed so that this one could open. My work in Barcelona will allow me to increase my knowledge of the business world on a global spectrum while expanding my experience in the field of international trade. This opportunity ensures that my expertise and understanding of this particular line of work develops and continues to grow.

I am forever grateful for my friends and family who have been at my side throughout this entire process. They give me hope and inspire me everyday. Any support offered is beyond appreciated as it will allow me to fulfill my aspirations of going abroad and achieving my career goals.
