Estancia Montessori - Maria funding

Estancia Montessori is a learning community for 12- to 18-year-olds. Our philosophy responds to the educational principles and curricular syllabary of Erdkinder by Dr. María Montessori. 

As a first generation of alumni, I consider Estancia a sanctuary, my home, the place where I made life-long friends and where I learned to respect and connect with the environment. The best memories of my teenage years took place in Estancia. 

Hurriance Maria has left Puerto Rico absolutely devastated, including Estancia. Although the community has risen to clean up and take care of its sanctuary, rebuilding will take much more than what they have to give and it is up to all Estancia generations to stand up and help in any way possible.  Students were supposed to go back to school in October but there is barely a school to go back to. 

This GoFundMe project will hopefully help Estancia Montessori rebuild and continue giving the young generations of Puerto Rico a safe haven where they can learn, grow, and connect with themselves and their environment. 

"Estancia began with a dream and a desire to make a High School using the Montessori philosophy. It is rare, as Maria Montessori only wrote journals and small investigations about the matter, not a full detailed curriculum. But we did it. A community of parents, guides and students that had a difficult goal in mind and were determined and resilient to make it happen. We built Estancia with our sweat, tears, love, passion. We built Estancia and we evolved with it. I've never experienced such a community like the one in Estancia. The friends...the family I made there, is one that can outlast any burst of winds, no matter how devastating. We built it together, and we will build it again stronger."
