We are raising funds to provide winter shelters as well as a portable exercise ring for two aged horses who are part of an amazing healing herd located on Vancouver Island in British Columbia.
Our immediate need is for $5000.00
Our goal is $15,000.00
OUR FIRST MILESTONE HAS BEEN REACHED THANKS TO YOUR GENEROSITY!
A ShelterLogic portable shelter has been purchased which will provide a quiet place for Grandmother Jet away from the younger horses.
This will allow her a restful area while she eats and any other time she feels the need to rest on her own.
Now on to the next! One for Wit!
The property the Society is currently leasing has adequate shelter for the herd, however, the two older members of the herd Grandmother Jet and Wit require separate spaces to benefit from customized feed programs to assist them in maintaining good health especially during the colder weather.
Last winter the herd lived on a property owned by the same people where they are currently residing, and our plan was to move them back there for the winter, however, the herd is clear in saying that they wish to remain on the more secluded spacious land nestled in the hills.
Our last few winters have been especially unusual for our area and should we get as much snow and cold then these two horses will be happiest in a cozy space of their own out of the elements during the nights.
People from around the world have benefited from the healing work these horses provide.

The herd of five Medicine Horses have been acquired in a variety of manners.
Some might be considered 'rescues' however the horses themselves prefer not to be referred to as such.
The Three Sisters, Trinity Red Star, Sirius Eclipse, and Venus DreamWalker were purchased with the purpose of providing an environment in which they could best fulfill their want and desire to be Medicine Horses.
The total funds we are raising will be used to help provide shelters, feed, hoof care and veterinary care for a period of one year.
The Sanctuary serves to protect the horses, share the wisdom and and above all connect the community of like heart-minded people.
The Society endeavors to deliver programs to individuals and groups designed to encourage empathy, understanding and growth in all areas of our lives.
Your donation will ensure the horses will receive excellent care while we as 'The Society' work toward completing our charity application, seek grants and other funding opportunities in order to provide learning opportunities and experiential healing opportunities to those who might not otherwise have affordable access to the Medicine Herd.
