My sister Essie's Wheelchair

Meet my sister Esther or as we call her Essie. She is a 28 year old young lady with developmental delay. When she was 6 months old she was diagnosed with a seizure disorder and placed on medication. She has taken medication for seizures from that time up to the present. Essie functions at about a 9 month old level. She cannot walk, talk or care for herself. She was also diagnosed as slightly autistic.

She has been in a wheelchair her whole life and the one she has is broken and hardly functioning. My mother and father struggle getting her in and out of her overused wheelchair from the car because the brakes on her chair no longer work. 

A new wheelchair that will fit her and help my family move her around is $4,000. We are also trying to get her the Proloquo2Go app which is a symbol-supported communication app that gives a voice to people who cannot speak which is $250.
