Espinos prayers for Victory for Vicky

Dear Family, Friends, and Loyal Espino’s Customers,

Vicky Haupt-Meyer, a beloved member and lifelong friend of the Scognamiglio-Espino family, needs our help.

Last September, Vicky was shockingly diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer which has metastasized to her lungs and hip. She immediately began conventional chemotherapy therapy, and in June she began coupling it with an integrative treatment program in Chicago in effort to improve her quality of life while she fights this devastating disease.

Unfortunately, certain aspects of this treatment were not covered by insurance, and when added with the bi-weekly travel costs, the financial burden has quickly grown.

Furthermore, Vicky recently underwent a routine PET scan to ensure her chemotherapy treatment was continuing to be effective, but sadly the scan showed that Vicky's cancer has become resistant to chemotherapy.

The cancer has progressed and is continuing to progress. Therefore, her doctors made the decision to stop chemotherapy treatments.

However, it is their hope that she will find more effective treatment as a participant in a medical trial. She and her medical team are still working to determine which trial will be most beneficial.

In the meantime, she will undergo radiation treatment, targeting a spot on her hip that has been the source of her greatest pain and discomfort. We are looking forward to the pain relief the treatment is expected to provide!

We have created this fund to ask for help from anyone who can assist and contribute to helping Vicky offset some of the financial obligations resulting from fighting this terrible disease.
