CHRISTMAS FOR CHILDREN ON THE STREETS OF BOGOTÁ, COLOMBIA
Of all the beautiful and everlasting memories I have from our many trips to Colombia throughout my life, what I always remember and experience with the same emotional intensity, are the Christmas days we've spent with my mom wandering the streets of Bogotá giving food, clothes and toys to homeless children. Living the joy of a street child being given a smile on Christmas day, is a life experience that has been etched in me since I was a kid and which was one of the first lessons that I was given by my mother: happiness can only be real when shared.

I would like to be able to continue the Christmas tradition my mom started in our home that is to share love, which is the essence of Christmas, with those in need. I would also like to extend this project in the future to help people on the streets of Bogotá through transitory services that can support and foment social cohesion to potentiate the capacities and resources of those most in need. This would be achieved through community houses, shelters, fraternal dining, psycho-social services, etc. that can favor and promote social inclusion of those that have been left aside in our current social and political systems. The goal is to reduce the vulnerability and psycho-social damage associated to being homeless.

I would like to count on you to continue the work of my mom. I am therefore grateful for any donations (be it monetary or clothes, toys, books and pencils etc.) to support our project!

"For you mami, who flooded our heart and soul with all your love and taught us to appreciate and respect the world we live in"
