In the town of Beaumont, Esperanto Developments employs roughly 120 employees between the Holiday Inn Full Service and Candlewood Suites hotels. Each and every one of these employees has been impacted by the storm in some form or another.
We have employees who can't locate their loved ones, people who have lost everything, and employees who stayed behind at our hotels to make sure that other hurricane victims had shelter and a safe place to stay.
As rivers began to overflow and dams and levees gave out at max capacity, the town of Beaumont became an island. The water supply has been compromised for days now. Food and gas are non-existent and people are in dire need of both.
The purpose of this fundraiser is to help our employees recover. It is a way of trying to repay them for their service and dedication to guests, victims, and evacuees that needed help in a time of crisis.
Anything you contribute is a show of support and solidarity to these employees in a time of need.
On behalf of Esperanto, Leticia Arreola and Elizabeth Brooks will be managing this campaign.
We are going to use the funds to distribute amongst the affected employees in the Beaumont area.
One of our goals is to help an employee offset the cost of funeral expenses for his mother (this was not a direct result of the hurricane, but the timing coincides with the event. We want take as much of the burden off of him as much as possible at this time).
Our other goals include, distributing funds to help employees put their general households back in order and offset the cost of this disaster.
We will withdraw the funds to deliver personally to the employees of our hotels.
