esophagus for Jerry

Donation protected
My older brother was born without an esophagus at birth. So during the first 8 months of his life he had several surgeries to save his life and recreate a new esophagus by moving part of his colon creating a make shift esophagus. My brother Jerry is now 41 years old and is dealing with the colon breaking down and basically deteriorating causing him sever pain and weight loss. This also caused several infections within his chest cavity and allowed food into his lungs. Jerry underwent his first round of surgery on October 10th after many months of ER visits and research conducted to fix the problems by 3 surgical teams composed of doctors from the U of U and VA hospital. On October 13th his left lung collapsed sending him back to the ICU. He can’t eat or drink because there is no where for it to go except into a bag. Jerry is a single full time dad for his 2 sons Carter & Rush. While he lays in the hospital he has had to distribute all of life's little struggles onto friends and family the best he could. The hardest part is being in the hospital he has no financial help and the bills are starting to overwhelm him. He was give a notice that the electricity will be getting shutt off on November 1st and this is just the start of the financial burden he is facing. He has at least 6 months of recovery from the first surgery with feeding tube sending “food” directly into his intestines and and a drain tube coming out of his neck allowing him a little comfort allowing him to “have a drink”. After this heals he will go in for a second surgery which will give him back a new esophagus allowing him to function normally without any feeding tubes or drain tubes. So as humble as he may be I am setting up this Go Fund Me account up so we can get some help for Jerry Carter & Rush financially. Thank you for all of your support so far in this medical nightmare that my brother has had to endure.
