At the very core of our values as a company, Eryc Taylor Dance (ETD) has always been about giving back. Our ETD Outreach Program serves the most vulnerable communities in NYC; The New Choreographer Grant program offers promising talent opportunities early in their careers. Our ambitious EARTH project in 2019 gave multiple creators a forum to share inspiration and information on how to heal our fragile planet from the havoc human beings have placed on it. ETD’s mission is to help others find their fire and spark a light in the darkness. Now, during this global crisis, we kindly ask for your assistance and generosity to ensure that both right now and when this worldwide catastrophe has finally subsided, we can continue the collaborative and meaningful work that we’ve spent fourteen years building. If you can't give at this time we kindly ask that you share our GoFundMe page with your network to help spread the word!
Like most, if not all, New York-based performing arts companies, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused all ETD and ETD Outreach in-person activities such as performances, workshops, tours, and productions to screeching halt. The loss of revenue is thousands of dollars per month. However, the need for these programs has become increasingly vital. In this incredibly isolating time, it is so easy to feel hopeless. It is crucial to continue our work with the vulnerable communities and individuals in NYC who need it most and to support our team of independent contractors who act as dancers and instructors for ETD, many of whom abruptly have no source of income.

With your generosity and support, we will use all funds received to:
1. Launch new ONLINE Movement Workshops to engage our community and practice joyful movement safely in place of the in-person workshops and help pay our instructors. For a full list of upcoming dance workshops click HERE
2. Develop Uncharted Territory: ETD's Dancer in Isolation Project with ETD Company dancers, utilizing Zoom to create new choreography. Check out the BroadwayWorld Article HERE
3. Keep ETD and ETD Outreach active to see the company through the challenging months ahead.

The Small Business Relief Initiative, made possible by GoFundMe, Intuit QuickBooks, Yelp, GoDaddy, and Bill.com, will give $500 match grants to businesses that raise at least $500 on GoFundMe. By donating today, you're helping us reach our goal AND making your money go farther. #smallbusinessrelief
We have also been offered a match grant for all funds raised through July, 2020.
In these times of uncertainty, no one can say what the future holds or when life will return to normalcy. However, ETD and ETD Outreach remain committed to lighting a spark in the darkness, sharing the power of movement, and offering inspiration and motivation to groups and individuals. With your support, we can do this in this present moment, and look forward to continuing our mission in a brighter future. With your donation to ETD, you will be doing just that by creating a domino effect of sharing, supporting, and connecting to people in communities across NYC and beyond. If you can't give at this time, please share our GoFundMe page with your network to help spread the word!

Week #3 Highlights from the creation process of Uncharted Territory, ETD's Dancer in Isolation Project:
UNCHARTED TERRITORY is a choreographic venture that uses an inventive chart designed by Taylor -- four-lettered columns across and twenty numbered down -- with movement, actions, and steps paired with qualities, emotions, and dynamics. The letters and numbers are scrambled at random to create a sequence that becomes a phrase of choreography that will be captured on camera and shared with the other dancers -- creating a unique and collaborative ETD company work while in isolation. Once back in the studio, the dancers will bring the disparate pieces together to create a fully unified work. The music will be an original score, but for now, the artists will, "Create in silence, focusing on what comes from a space deep within yourself." For more information please email [email redacted]
