Help Ernie Get 2 ACL Surgeries

Donation protected
2018 hasn't quite been the year for our sweet Ernie. In February, he had a cancerous mass removed from his side.

In October, I noticed that Ernie started to form a noticeable limp with one of his back legs. We thought it was a partial tear that might heal on it's own with some time.

A few days before Halloween, Ernie was rushed to the Emergency Vet at 1am. He was unable to walk or put any kind of pressure on either of his back legs. We found him shaking on the floor running a fever, and knew it was critical. At the emergency vet, they confirmed that his ACL was indeed fully torn and there was fluid building up in his knee.

I was able to take him to the NYC ASPCA this week for a more thorough exam and they determined that he will need surgery on both of his ACLs, his left one first since it's the most extreme.

Ernie and I live on the 4th floor of a walk-up building in Brooklyn and he is no longer able to take the stairs. He's only 4/5 years old and has a lot of life and energy left, and I want to be able to give that to him. He's brought so much joy to not only myself but the world around me.

Ernie will be having his first ACL surgery in early January 2019, until then he will need to be on pain management medication.  As a single dog parent, times like this are incredibly tough relying on one income. Your donations will go directly to his transportation (can't take train or ubers), surgeries and recovery therapy.

Ernie + I appreciate you. <3
