Hi everyone! They say that every one of us knows someone that is affected by cancer. Until recently, I was blessed enough not to have it touch too many people in my life. Recently, however, one of the good people I have known and worked with for more than 15 years was diagnosed with Stage 4 stomach cancer. He is the same age as I am, less than 50 years old.
The doctors were able to stop the spread of the disease through chemotherapy and removed the tumor in his stomach with surgery. He was a little lucky because they told him at first that he would have to have 75-100% of his stomach removed but they only had to take out 60%, allowing him to live a somewhat normal life in the future.
Unfortunately, there have been complications to his surgery. The doctors nicked an artery while removing the tumor and he had to have 3 more surgeries to find the source of the internal bleeding and close it up. They also had to go in during another procedure and put a tube in his lungs because they were filling up with fluid as a result of all the surgeries. He has had 6 surgeries in the last month in all.
Ernesto and his family is having a hard time paying bills while he has been in the hospital. I have placed collections in all the Domino's stores for him, but it isn't enough. I am going to put this GoFundMe campaign out there for one month to see if we can raise $5,000 to help him pay his bills while he is out of work for a couple months. Could you please help?
