Erna Jones passed from this life at age 97 on 5-25-2017 in Costa Mesa CA. Erna was loved by many with a cheerful personality and sunny disposition.
She was born and raised in Texas and after marrying, moved to California. She had 4 sons and one daughter; the oldest son died in 1986 ina bone-marrow transplant but her second son died less than a month before her.
The family, of modest means, were able to pay for the cremation and memorial of the son, Sonny, with the help of a Go Fund Me site. We hope to raise the funds to give Erna a proper memorial in the same way. We would also like to raise funds for her youngest son, Gregg, who was her caretaker for the last 10 years and kept her out of a nursing home even when she required nursing care.
Gregg, as a In Home Supportive Healthcare Worker, had some very minimal income and lived with his mother who paid the rent with a limited Social Security income. He took care of everything and showed great patience and perseverence in caring for her.
Now Gregg essentiaally has no money to pay rent and no income. He is exhausted and traumatized as he was the one who found his brother when he died the month before.
The deceased brother, Sonny, was looking forward to the wedding of his youngest child, a daughter, on June 23rd, next month. The financeas of the family are stretched thin with the two memorials and the upcoming wedding. We would be extremely grateful for any support, however small or large, that anyone could contribute to the cause of the memorial and transitional support of her youngest son, Gregg who needes time to recover.
