Erin L. Nance Scholarship Fund CC Classic

Once known as the London Invitational, the meet was renamed in 1998 after Erin passed away as a result of a car accident the spring of her senior year. Also, that same year a Scholarship Fund was established in her name to be awarded to graduating seniors at London High School. Erin loved running very much & was a fierce competitor. Erin was a scholar athlete who excelled both inside and outside of the classroom.
The Erin L. Nance Fall Distance Classic was a way to help raise monies and contribute to the scholarship fund each year. T-shirt sales as well as donations collected by Erin's classmates, family & friends each year from the race attendees as they enter the meet help fuel this scholarship fund & keep it alive. Each year Coach Terry Nance asks for volunteers to lend a hand with this event & each year former athletes he has coached over the years, former students, members of the community, fellow teachers & coaches come back to help support this amazing event.
Today's announcement hit very hard. Our BIG day to celebrate Erin's life each year was put on hold until next year. Many people look forward to this meet and this day. It truly is a special race dedicated to a very special young lady.
I, personally made a promise to Erin's mother, Connie, that Erin would never be forgotten. This crazy Covid-19 & these rules & regulations set forth this year shouldn't stop us from honoring her. I love the fact that Erin's scholarship fund grows each year due to the race. So, we decided to create this GoFundMe page. Some of you have already asked, "Can I still donate (to the scholarship fund)?" and the answer is now, YES!
Please consider donating. Anything helps & will be greatly appreciated. All funds will be directly given to Coach Terry & Connie Nance for Erin's scholarship fund, in which they manage.
Thank you so very much,
