Campamentos de Impacto (Guatemala)

Dear Family & Friends,

So the past couple of years Jesus has been moving in my life and sanctifying me in such beautiful ways! (very slowly because your boy is a mess, but growth is growth so glory to God). This summer I got the opportunity to work with Pine Cove which is a Jesus centered camp for kiddos that range from going into kindergarten to seniors in high school. They also have family camps!

I was lucky enough to be apart of a team that wasn't located at the actual camp site (they have 3 different camp sites!!) but instead I got to road trip each week to a different city and partner with a church and we got to bring pinecove to a different city each week and get to love on those kids and share the gospel!

Y'all, Jesus is good and has given me another opportunity to bring camp to another place that isn't the actual campsite.. this time it's not in another city, but it's in another country! Guatemala!

In 2004, Pine Cove began its Commission Camping program by going to Costa Rica to work with two churches there. The plan was to join with Christian Camping International (CCI) Latin America to teach and equip the leaders of these churches/camps how to use camping ministry as outreach. Each partnership is designed to be three years and by the third year to see the national camp be able to stand on its own. This is accomplished by modeling what we do at Pine Cove for the leaders and equipping them with the necessary resources to put on a camp. Each year the âbatonâ is progressively passed through teaching effective principles of Christian camping. As all of this is done we seek to learn about their culture and work together to implement a program that is specific to the Latin American people.

Pine Cove has seen the successful completion of many partnerships throughout Latin America and will be sending 10 teams to 8 countries this January. Each team will have 15 college students and 2 full-time staff!

The amount I need to go to Guatemala is $2,650. That's a big number, but I'm not even slightly discouraged cause Jesus is faithful.  I would like to ask you to prayerfully consider partnering with me on this mission trip.

First and most importantly you can commit to pray for me! We badly need prayers before during and after the trip. Not only for the team, but those we are going to serve as well.

Second, I need help with covering the finance side. Don't give to Erik, but give to Jesus, but only if you feel like the Spirit is beckoning you to give financially.

Matthew 10:40-42 says, "We are intimately linked in this harvest work. Anyone who accepts what you do, accepts me, the One who sent you. Anyone who accepts what I do accepts my Father, who sent me. Accepting a messenger of God is as good as being God's messenger.".

I'm so excited to bring camp to Guatemala, but I'm more excited that I get to bring the joy I find in Christ. Thank you for the love and support everyone. It's a miracle, that someone broken like me, can still be used to do glorious things.

Praise him!

Erik
