Erika to twirl with SoA 2015!

Donation protected
In 2013, I got to have the summer of a lifetime. I was afforded the opportunity to travel around the country  with the world-class group, Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corps. (What's drum corps? It's basically the professional tier of the marching arts. "Marching Music's Major League" is the tagline.) Since then, I was able to teach an awesome group of high schoolers at my alma mater (Grand Rapids High School), and I filled a hole for Minnesota Brass.

What I found was beyond sore arms from twirling for countless days on end or the joy of chicken patty day. I found a family. I found a group of people who alI love something that's so unique just as much as I do, and I can't fail to mention, have SO much talent. It's an honor to not only know them, but to be included in the membership.

I've been fortunate enough to be offered the opportunity again. Color guard and the marching arts has been a passion of mine since 2010, and I just couldn't give it up after three years in high school.

Ever since the end of the 2013 season, it's been my dream to return to the f<(mily and spend another summer on the road spinning. Your donation will go directly towards my tour fees, which pays for food, transportation, housing, instruction, uniforms, laundry, and other miscellaneous items.

A little more about me: I'm a sophomore at Columbia College Chicago, where I'm part of the Honors Program and double-majoring in Media Management and Radio. I work in the Radio Department at Columbia providing technical assistance to students; I'm the Associate Producer over at the Great Northern Radio Show; I'm also the Web & Marketing Intern at the Chicago Area Runners Association; and Social Media Consultant for Computer Enterprises. I also serve on Student Government as the Radio Department Senator.

I cannot stress enough that any dollar amount will help me make it on the road this summer. If every one of my Facebook friends donated $2.50, I'd be in a pretty safe place financially.

GoFundMe will take about 8% of your donation for fees, so if you would like 100% of your contribution to go directory towards my fees, you can go to this page

If you made it this far, I hope you will consider donating whatever you can towards making my dream come true. If you can't contribute, simply sharing my campaign means more than you can fathom. Any questions? Feel free to contact me at any time: [email redacted]
