Erika Smith Memorial Fund

Erika Smith was a beloved mother, sister, cousin, friend, and colleague. She passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 6th, 2020, of a suspected heart attack.

Erika had just won her second battle with ovarian cancer and was celebrating remission by working on living a healthier life.

Erika always believed in others even when they doubted themselves. She encouraged others to reach further, try harder, and dream bigger. She was the kind of woman who made sure to always reach out a hand whenever she saw a person in need. She spread kindness and joy through her volunteering and her work as a day care director. And despite all the challenges she faced as a single mother of color, Erika raised her daughters to be strong, loving, beautiful women. 

Erika will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Erika is survived by her two daughters, Emerald and Emperial.
