Erik needs your help

Tax deductible

PERSISTENCE: “hard work riding from failures – achieving success through trial and error.”

Erik is a one-year-old cat with urinary incontinence that has been under the care of Dumped/Stray Animal Rescue since October 2020Male urinary incontinence in cats is rare and despite nearly one year of searching for a diagnosis, including multiple veterinary visits, specialists, testing, and treatments, we have failed to find an answer for this lovable, sweet, young boy. When others may have given up on Erik, we persist in finding an answer for him. In animal rescue, we don’t always get feel-good moments - there’s a lot of heartbreak and there’s always more cats and kittens to save, but we fight for those we can help. We can help Erik. Through trial and error, we have eliminated many things it is not, inching us closer to finding out what it is.

There is one major possible cause for Erik’s incontinence that has not been explored: neurological. As with people, when you start exploring neurological causes, it gets expensive. At the recommendation of Cornell Veterinary, we are asking fordonations to get Erik to a feline neurologist. The estimated cost of the neurologist appointment(s), testing (MRI, etc.), overnight stays, sedation, etc. is $5,000.
