Sharing the Story of Amazing Women In the Americas!

Donation protected
I'm thrilled to be a Photographer and the Photographic Bookmaker for a new Kleiwerks International program called
WASI:THE WOMEN OF THE AMERICAS SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVE.

I'm raising funds to support my travel and living expenses for WASI's kickoff Training Convergence in Cabrero, Chile, in November 2012.

HERE'S THE STORY:
Kleiwerks International's Women of the Americas Sustainability Initiative (WASI) is focused on supporting and engaging women, who make up 70% of the world's poorest people and are subject to economic injustices more often than men. Equipping women with skills and leadership training in ecological design and construction not only enables them to build their own houses and community centers, providing for their immediate needs, but it also offers them an avenue for lasting independence. Training women to build ecologically, economically, and socially-just projects that serve their communities mobilizes them as a formidable force for change.

About WASI
WASI is an ongoing initiative that starts with a unique yearlong program. The program includes a corps of 60 women made up of: 10 design-build instructors, 20 Global Peers who support the storytelling and development of the alliance (that's me, a Global Peer!), and 30 delegates who join in teams of two, representing 15 countries. WASI's yearlong program kicks off with a two-week hands-on ecological design-build training convergence in November 2012, hosted by the El Manzano Education Centre in Cabrero, Chile (http://www.elmanzano.org/en). The rest of the year will include locally-led, hands-on educational outreach building projects that will be conducted by the participating organizations and representatives in their respective communities. At least 100 people will be trained through each project.
