What would our communities look like if we had more healers that are trauma-informed, rooted in the movement and committed to our people? This is my visison, wanna join me?

I spent my twenties as an undocumented immigrant and arts activist organizing with undocumented youth. While incredibly passionate about my work, I was also completely burnt out and it all began to manifest in physical, mental and emotional ills.  When I looked to my comrades, and to the youth and families I worked with, I saw the same-- a deep need to connect to and reclaim healing practices that will heal us individually and collectively.

Desperate for solutions beyond the blank stares, run-around of expensive referrals and pills offered by conventional medicine, I began to explore all other healing practices under the sun ...You name it, I tried it...for real.  My years of search led me to Ayurveda -a 5,000 year old science and art that incorporates nutrition, herbal medicine, bodywork, yoga, meditation and counseling to form a comprehensive and holistic approach to healing. I deeply resonate with this modality and its ability to connect societal ills with personal ills . Most importantly, Ayurveda empowers those healing by educating us on how to live in balance interanlly and externally.

In 2016, I began my studies to become an Ayurvedic Practitioner to humbly offer this to my people, family, community, comrades in the movement, myself, my future children, and hopefully you reading this :)

Since I am not eligible for FAFSA and other forms of aid for this program, I have spent the last couple of years juggling full time work organizing, teaching yoga, and attending school to pay completely out of pocket. I have recently transitioned out of full time work to complete my studies, focus on my thesis, and pass my National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA) exams. I am one semester away from completing my Ayurvedic Practitioner program at Southern California University of Health Sciences. Tuition payments are due in February, can I count on your support to fund my last year of study?

Your support will go towards:
$9,820 tuition
$300 for books

*Please feel free to reach out to me to learn more about Ayurveda and the practice I plan offer :)

Thank you for being part of my journey! <3
