Kitten Eye Surgery

A bloated belly.  A wide-eyed vacant stare.  "Try not to cry," their rescuer said while she handed over the two stray kittens with bulging eyes.  She was heartbroken and exhausted after witnessing a nearby colony producing litter after litter – all of them homeless, malnourished, and vulnerable.  She had been unable to find help, and was giving all the care she could.  But these babies were in especially rough shape – clearly lacking the ability to see.  Naturally, we couldn't say no, and the vet broke the bad news.  Both kittens need eye removal surgery to save their lives – a very pricey procedure.

So we keep them warm, fed, and safe, in hopes that we can facilitate their surgery  The boy is a Siamese, and his sister a Tuxedo.  She exuberantly tumbles with him while he gently paws her back, although neither can see while they play. We hold them close as they purr and snuggle into our warmth.  They're so strong, so we name them Captain America and Wonder Woman.  They will make it.

Help us save them. We are looking to raise $3,800 to pay for urgent surgeries this summer.  We are a completely volunteer-run organization focused on Trap/Neuter/Return or Place.  All the funds we raise go towards our vital community programs, and we are proud to have facilitated 1600 spay/neuter surgeries with T.A.R.A. since January 2015. Unfortunately that leaves little left over for vital surgeries.  These little superheroes deserve a fighting chance.
