<div>In 1985 begon het allemaal. Wim Vermeij was medeoprichter van Triathlon Vereniging Breda, én richtte in datzelfde jaar de Stichting Triatlon Evenementen Midden &amp; West Brabant (STEM &amp; WB) op. Wat volgde was een indrukwekkende periode van 40 jaar waarin Wim uitgroeide tot een onmisbare spil in de triathlonsport – in de regio en daarbuiten.

<div>Na zijn actieve triathloncarrière verschoof zijn inzet naar iets groters: in 1998 richtte hij de stichting Save Ethiopian Children op, waarmee hij zich sindsdien inzet voor kansarme kinderen in Ethiopië. Zijn maatschappelijke betrokkenheid kende geen grenzen – letterlijk en figuurlijk.

<div>En nu, 40 jaar later, stopt Wim als drijvende kracht achter Stichting Triatlon Evenementen Midden &amp; West Brabant (STEM &amp; WB). Geen kleine beslissing, want zijn aanwezigheid was voor velen vanzelfsprekend. Om hem te bedanken voor zijn ongekende inzet starten we een crowdfundingactie voor een passend afscheid. maar ook een blijvend aandenken.
