Erby Aucoin III Medical/Funeral Exp

Donation protected

My name is Heather Dudenhefer and I am Erby Aucoin's niece.  On January 30th, my Uncle Erby was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer...his life had literally come to a stop!  The disease attacked him so fast that we could barely process what was going on.  In the 1st two weeks he was in Ochsner hospital battling this disease and receiving multiple radiation treatments.  Unfortunately, the tumors were growing so fast that the radiation could not keep up.  The tumors were located in spots that caused paralysis which complicated his treatment plan and made him not eligible to begin chemotherapy.  On Friday February 13th, he was sent home on hospice care to my Aunt Michelle's house (his youngest sister).  Through his entire life and during his final days, he was so loved.  Many people visited him, whether just to keep him company or to help him with his next adventure.  He was a wonderful man with a genuine heart and a brain too smart for his own good!  He lived a great life full of many adventures and has touched MANY people through his love for music, shooting pool, and golf!  He was the most unselfish man and never worried about himself...even on his last day.  His biggest concern was his mother; it crushed him that his mother had to watch him suffer and he was concerned about the finances and the heartache his untimely death would put on her.  Now, I want to give back to him!!!  I am reaching out to those who knew how big his heart was and how much of a giver he was.  He was strong and he fought hard in a short amount of time; he was living life and then he hit this unexpected bump that would change his life forever.  I am reaching out to those that can lend a helping hand to help my Grandmother Rosalie pay for his medical and funeral expenses.  On Wednesday, February 25th, my Uncle Erby passed away after the fast and difficult few weeks of his fight for life.  I am relieved that he is no longer suffering and happy that he lives through many of us; but most thankful he is at peace.  My family and I thank all of you who have stepped up to visit, help, bring food, or shared your thoughts and prayers!  All of your love was felt and I know it gave him a lot of closure in his final days.  Thank you all so much for everything.

Sincerely,
Heather
