Stella needs a vet, please help us!

Hi everyone! For those of you who don't already know, Stella is my new kitty. :) I adopted her from the Niagara County SPCA in March, a few months after losing Mimi (despite our best efforts to save her). She is a beautiful little domestic shorthair, and while they estimated her to be about 8 years old I personally believe she is quite a bit younger. All I know about her past is that she was abused in some way. It took some time to get her to trust me, but I'm happy to say she now seems to trust almost 100%, and she seems to be a very happy little girl with a lot of love to give. She is the most precious gift; sweet, spunky and smart...loves playing with ribbons and lots of belly rubs...I don't know what I'd do without her.

Speaking of belly rubs, Stella's belly has not been feeling well for the last few days. She has still been eating and playing normally, until yesterday, Friday ,October 9th when she vomited. In that vomit was a fairly large WORM! I am quite certain it was a live roundworm, and I know she needs veterinary attention to be dewormed ASAP because of course vomiting worms usually means the animal is already infested with the parasite!

I have been able to secure an appointment for her on Thursday, Oct. 15th (I wish I could get her seen sooner but that was our vet's first available appointment!). The only problem is, I've been quoted $47 for the visit, $33 for a fecal and at least $28 for the medication. I will be at least $75 short on this bill as I only have about $30 to my name right now!! Hopefully all they will need to do is deworm her. If more is wrong and she's infested to the point where it has made her really sick, and the cost goes up...well...then we really will be in trouble. Keeping my fingers crossed that this won't be the case!

I hate having to ask for help like this...so many of you did so much to help with Mimi, but I'm desperate once again and I know now that Stella is quite uncomfortable with these worms inside her. The thing is she shows her belly ALL the time to ask for belly rubs (or so we've always thought). Now I wonder if, in her own little way, she's been trying to tell me something was wrong in there. I've also often felt small lumps in her abdomen but they came and went so I kind of let it go, knowing she had recently been spayed (and dewormed, vaccinated, etc.) by the SPCA. It's killing ME to have to wait until Thursday to help her, thinking of worms floating around in there, but the truth is I'll need all the time I can get just to scrape up the money. If I can't, I'm not sure what to do.

Please help if you can. Even a few dollars will help...though I have to remember that this website and it's other service charges fees so some money is lost in the process. Still, every dollar, every cent is appreciated! For example, if I can just get 10 people to contribute $10 each, even minus the GFM/WePay fees on my end, I think we'd pretty much be covered. And of course as I did with Mimi, I will post updates and invoices/proof of payment once I have them.

If you are unable to help donation wise, you've kindly read this far so please help by sending good thoughts, positive vibes, prayers, keeping your fingers and toes crossed...that kind of thing. ;)

Stella wants you all to have a nice, relaxing weekend...and...

I want to say thank you ALL so very, VERY much!
