Williams Family Hurricane Relief

Donation protected
Hurricane Irma brought destruction to many families in Florida, I'd like to talk about one that is near and dear to my heart - The Williams Family.
As Hurricane Irma barreled through St. Augustine and Jacksonville, the flood waters began rising in the Williams' family home. At around 3am, Amy & Jon gathered up their children and mine and evacuated their home. Amy was keeping my kids safe as I worked on the emergency team at the hospital.  The house has been completely flooded.
The waters have receded in the house but days later the front yard is still under water. The family has been working to remove all the flooring. And a Huge THANK YOU to Lieutenant Wurle and his amazing Saint Johns Co.police officers for all your help removing the remaining carpet and flooring!!!

Amy has spent decades giving her time and service to her neighbors and community. She’s the co-leader of her daughters Girl Scout troop who have spent countless hours serving their community, collecting supplies for local pet shelters, donating and decorating the “Buddy Bench” at Hickory Creek Elementary and being a great example and role model to the young ladies of Troop #1165. Amy is always the first person to give to someone in need, bake a cake for someone’s birthday, make a quilt for a new baby, even her profession as a nurse has been to give compassionate care to women, babies and families in happy and not so happy times. She and her coworkers collected diapers to send to survivors in Texas affected by Hurricane Harvey. She has been an amazing role model and inspiration to me and my children; I’d like to ask for your help to help this wonderful family get back into their home.

The walls will need to be rebuilt to be safe from any mold or mildew. All the flooring will need to be replaced and some furnishing. A drain on the street is needed to avoid flooding in the future. Their street has no storm drains. If anyone knows who can help get the county involved in coming up with a drainage system, please let us know.
Thank you for your help, thoughts and prayers as we all pull together to recover from Hurricane Irma. We all have so much to be thankful for and to celebrate, let's help the Williams celebrate at HOME again!
