Silk Road Gourmet: Volume 2
Funds will be used to self-publish the second volume of my cookbook, The Silk Road Gourmet. Volume two will cover the cuisines and cultures of Central Asia, the Himalayas, and the Indo Pacific. The volume will explore how these cuisines are "fusion cuisines" that combine ingredients or methods of preparation from Western, Southern, and Eastern Asia.
Silk Road Gourmet, Volume one, which explores the cuisines and cultures of Western and Southern Asia, was nominated for an award by Le Cordon Bleu World Media, is highly rated by users, and continues to sell at online retailers, and museum shops (including the Smithsonian) around the country.
Silk Road Gourmet is a labor of love for me that I would desperately like to finish. A layoff with continued unemployment from my job as a scientist has had a severe impact on my finances, making self-funding impossible.
