Help Haiti in this difficult time
Hello everyone, we are Dayane and Johana, two Haitian sisters living in the UK.
We are calling for your help to assist the south of Haiti after the natural catastrophe that happened. On the 14th of August 2021, a 7.2 M earthquake struck South of Haiti. As of Sunday evening, the death toll had risen to over 1,200, but that number is expected to keep growing.
Saturday's earthquake was the largest to hit Haiti since a magnitude 7.0 earthquake devastated the country on the 12th of January, 2010. The epicentre of the 2010 earthquake was closer to Port-au-Prince and caused more than 300,000 fatalities.
Haiti is now in a state of emergency and needs your help more than ever, many families have lost their homes, and others are trying to find refuge. The money raised will provide basic needs such as:
- Clothes,
- Food,
- Water
- Shelters
- Medicines.
As of right now, no fixed amount will determine how much will be sufficient to help the Haitians. Therefore, you can imagine that the region will need further assistance to help rebuild homes that have been destroyed. We will be fully transparent on how the money raised will be used.
