Becky’s battle

“It’s ok to be scared. Being scared means you’re about to do something really, really brave.” ❤️

My cousin Becky recently got the news that her last CT scan showed a mass on her bladder, nodules on her lungs and lesions on her spine. Tomorrow, Monday February 19th she will be admitted to Stonybrook hospital for more biopsies, scans and surgery. She will endure months of radiation and chemo to follow.
She had thyroid cancer 5 years ago and had her thyroid removed and received a clean scan a year later.
The doctors think it’s from the radiation exposure when she was 12 years old and lived in Heidelberg Germany with her family due to my Uncle being stationed there in the service. While they were there, reactor #4 at the nuclear power plant in Chernobyl Russia exploded. It sent a cloud of radiation equal to 400  Hiroshima bombs over Western Europe. As a young girl she was at risk for cancers related to the radiation exposure.
I have to help her.. I have to do whatever I can to help my cousin.... Every little bit of my help will help her in a big way. Becky I love you and I’m in this battle with you.

“Be the beacon of light in someone’s darkness.”
