O'Malley House Fire

You may be shocked to learn my house burned down last Sunday. My momma was asleep when the fire started and we are blessed she is alive today thanks to her friend that woke her. Our dog, who really was like a brother, did not make it out. A house fire is a terrifying and disorienting experience and unfortunately our beloved dog, Houdini, got lost in the black smoke.
It's one thing to lose all of your posessions, its quite another to lose a family member.
Many of you have been to my family's house located just outside of the town of Clifton; endless pool parties, bbqs, movie nights, baking parties, dance meetings, etc.
And many of you know and love my mother; whether it's because she gave you a home when you were displaced, was your DD when you were drunk, made you homemade candy because you felt the store bought kind was junk, kept your secrets, was your shoulder to cry on, was a pseudo parent when you felt too awkward to talk to yours, maybe she won you a beer pong game, or didn't think twice about hosting you for a holiday when you felt alone, perhaps she was a counselor to you at times when even I couldn't be, she helped you land your first job, or took us all out for yummy dinners to show us how proud she was after competitions, she might have showed up to all of your ballet performances with flowers, and you might have bought her wine and hung out with her in my kitchen even though it was my birthday ;).
And I love you all for loving her. So, I ask you once more to show her the same heart you always have and help her in her time of need.
All of this money goes to my mom who has suffered so much from this loss both emotionally and financially and really any amount is never too little.
