Robin's Medical Fund

It has been two years since Robin was diagnosed with neuroendrocine cancer in her lung.  Through radiation and chemotherapy treatments, Loco-Regional Hyperthermia, Sandostantin shots to block the hormones feeding the tumors, and a daily regiment of Escozul (Blue Scorpion venom from Cuba), Robin received months of favorable test results, showing that the cancer cells were disappearing and/or shrinking. However, this summer Robin began to feel unwell and was unable to keep down food and her medicine.  She requested a head CT scan and received the devastating news that the cancer has spread to her brain.  The following week, she received equally devastating news that the cancer has spread to her liver and that the original lung tumor has grown.  Radiation on her brain began immediately.  Chemotherapy is scheduled to commence September 25, 26, 27 >12 treatments over a period of 2.5 months.  Different types of naturopathic, conventional, and private clinical treatments are being investigated, and some are currently being utilized. However, as before, certain treatments are cost-prohibitive and not covered through health benefits.  We all know Robin - she will do whatever it takes to get well again, and I am reaching out for support from family, friends and her community so that she can implement treatment options that are available to her.  Blessings, Cindy Whetham
