Epidemiology Field Manual Initiative

Donation protected
Ever seen something terrible happen and wanted to do something about it? That's what happened to my sister and me when the Ebola outbreak occurred in West Africa.

Since the outbreak, numerous healthcare workers have been trained and deployed to the field as frontline workers to watch for and monitor signs of certain diseases in these regions. Due to their position on the frontline, these people are witnessing illnesses that they either have never seen before, or they have limited resources of which to treat them. My father worked as a CDC detail during the Ebola Outbreak, and seeing our father work with these healthcare workers motivated us to give back to the country. My sister and I found this to be a great opportunity to serve a country that means so much to us.

We have initiated a partnership with the American Public Health Association (APHA), the CDC, and the American Embassy in Sierra Leone to donate 500 copies of the Control of Communicable Diseases manual to help personnel in Sierra Leone.

This manual brings an abundance of vital information about known communicable diseases into one medium that healthcare workers can easily refer to. Having this manual can expedite diagnosis, and lead to immediate action while healthcare workers wait for assistance in managing and containing an illness.

The total cost for purchasing and shipping these manuals amounts to $35,000, and that's where you come in. We ask you to “go fund” us to help donate these books to the healthcare personnel in Sierra Leone who would so greatly appreciate this.

Every $65 equates to purchase and delivery of one manual for a healthcare worker in Sierra Leone.

The money you donate will be withdrawn to a project bank account that will be used to purchase the manuals. The funds will be used to purchase and ship these manuals from the APHA warehouse in Atlanta to an American post in Sierra Leone through APHA shipping.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
