When Robert was young he was diagnosed with a kidney disease. Robert maintained a stable kidney function for many years. Recently, when receiving treatment for an oral infection, doctors discovered that his kidney function had decreased dramatically. After several months of doctors visits and tests, it was determined that Robert's kidney function was so severe that the only option for him was to have a kidney transplant.
Robert will be going to Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, Washington for treatment. His initial appointment will be to have a work-up done to determine the best match for a donor. After that, if a donor is found, Robert will have the transplant at Virginia Mason Hospital. After the transplant and stay in the hospital, Robert will be required to stay in Seattle for at least one month for continued monitoring.
This, along with the expenses for the donor, will be quite extraordinary. That's why this page exists, to alleviate some of the financial responsibility from Robert and his family.
Not only financial donations, but anyone who is willing to donate a kidney to Robert, please contact us for the information on how to get checked to determine if you are a match.
Thank you to any one willing to help Robert and the Kennedy family. Your generosity and compassion are appreciated more than you could ever know.
