Enzo is at the vet hospital. Basically we don't have firm answers. On 10/9 in the morning he woke up and couldn't navigate the house. Running into everything, wouldn't use the stairs, scared. I spent the majority of the morning at the ER and then Neurologist. His eye doctor said this wasn’t normal for his known condition, and the vet sent us straight to the ER.
They think he has something called Optic Neuritis. Most likely from an inflammatory/autoimmune cause. But of course tumors and cancer are other possibilities.
They are keeping him overnight to MRI him 10/10 and diagnosis exactly the cause. Today and tomorrow will total $4000 to just get the diagnosis.
If it's inflammatory he can do 48 hours of medicine at the hospital and then come home and be on steroids for about 6 months.
They started him on aggressive steroid treatment tonight on the hopes that they can get back what little vision he had.
So, unfortunately mom and dad are feeling really sad, but I'm told his prognosis is "good" and this is totally manageable if it's inflammatory.
Recent update:
Dr Lane just called- it's the best case scenario possible. His brain is completely normal and it has not spread outside his optic nerves.
This is basically autoimmune and will be life long remission but not cure. They don't know what triggers this, but that we couldn't have caught this any quicker.
They will treat aggressively the next 48 hours at the vet hospital with a chemo drug that happens to knock cases like this out($500-700/day). Then he will go home on maitnence meds (cost to be determined) for the rest of his life.

Enzo is a huge part of the Bandimere race track and so very important to the Stark family. Due to unforeseen circumstances this year (house flooding/ Enzo’s blindness, etc) money is getting very tight. These two would never ask for a handout, as they would do anything for Enzo, but I’m here to ask for a hand up! Every little bit helps. Thank you!
