PHASE ONE - acquire a vehicle to support Marie's vision

Canadian photo-based artist, Marie LeBlanc, is urgently seeking your support to help fund her ongoing work to create awareness of environmental illness.

Her projection-based project, 'WHO says we need fresh air?!' is a series of insights, comments and images from sufferers around the world, living with Environmental Illnesses (EI), also known as Environmental Sensitivities (ES) in Canada.

Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), Mold Exposure - Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS), Electro-Magnetic Hypersensitivity (EHS), Toxic Encephalopathy, Lyme Disease and many more environmental illnesses are represented in Marie's 'WHO says we need fresh air?!' presentation.

Experiencing 'WHO says we need fresh air?!', you will feel the cries for help as sufferers of environmental illnesses struggle to have their most basic needs met. Many remain homeless — unsupported and unacknowledged by our medical system, social agencies and society in general.

Over a million people in Canada have been diagnosed with environmental sensitivities. While Marie herself is struggling to live with many aspects of ES/EI, she has plans to travel across Canada and is considering traveling across the continent, to interview and photograph other sufferers of environmental sensitivities, and share their stories through her ongoing art project, ‘WHO says we need fresh air?!’.

T
o continue on her mission, Marie requires a new vehicle  to replace her current failing van which has until now, been her safe, healthy home/workshop on wheels. This is necessary for her because traveling via public transit, renting a vehicle and staying in hotels and most other buildings can adversely affect Marie's health.

Precariously housed since 2016, Marie has been on disability for several years and has been living on a very modest income. She is seeking your support to help her acquire an environmentally safe van or motor home. It needs to be as scent free and pet dander free as possible and with enough room to be revamped to accommodate a work space and living area using materials that will not affect her extreme case of environmental sensitivities. The funds would also help Marie to maintain her current van until the new van is ready as well as to finance her presentations of 'WHO says we need fresh air?!'.

Marie has also been working with homeless groups in hope that someday, by spreading awareness, environmentally safe communities will be built throughout Canada and the world for people like herself.

Marie's goal is to ensure people with an environmental illness can live a better quality of life with shelter, support and  acknowledgements by our medical systems and society as a whole.

Their story is her story.

Once Marie has acquired the proper vehicle she will continue PHASE TWO - travel across the nation.
