Enid Whittaker Flood and Mud Fund

Donation protected
My name is Gary and I'm fundraising for Enid Whittaker. Enid has suffered not one but TWO floods in the last year. Nearly one year ago to the day a monsoon rainstorm dumped tons of rain on the Catalina Foothills in Tucson AZ. The Catalina mountains were ravaged by a fire the year before that destroyed much of the vegetation. With nothing to slow down the rainfall, it poured down the mountain and through Enid's neighborhood. As a result she had tons of mud covering her yard, filling her pool and ruining several exterior doors. While insurance covered the interior remediation and new doors, it did not cover the removal of the mud nor the replastering of the pool.

Fast forward to July 31st, 2022 when another monsoon rain hit the Foothills. Despite the county's work to clear the wash to prevent future flooding, it was unsuccessful. This time a wall of water not only dumped more mud in the yard and pool, but also broke through a wooden door, resulting in 4 inches of water and mud flowing through her house. The flow toppled a large bookcase in her bedroom and office dumping dozens of books onto the floor, now covered in 3 inches of mud.

Enid is the Managing Director of Bonnie Prudden Myotherapy. All of the history of Bonnie Prudden is stored in the flooded office/library. At 84 years of age, Enid has helped hundreds (if not thousands) of people live pain free. If anyone walks into her house and mentions they have a pain, whether it be shoulder, back, neck or any other muscular pain, Enid immediately goes to work freeing their pain and sending them on their way.

The irony of the 2022 flood is she had just received the initial insurance payment from last year's flood only a few weeks earlier. With that payment, she was able to order the new doors and was waiting on their arrival.

The reason for the GoFundMe account is to help with the massive expenses that won't be covered by insurance. Things like:
  • Replacing furniture and contents that were water logged and ruined.
  • Removal and storage of the salvageable content
  • Removal and disposals of the tons of mud. (Last year it took more than 20 large truckloads)
  • Moving fully loaded Tuf Shed that was washed 40 yards down the wash.
  • Removal of the 5 feet of mud in the pool
  • Replastering the pool again ($6000 +)

Please consider helping this giving soul to recover from this devastating tragedy.
