English for Bali!

Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Jada. Currently I am a senior in high school, and planning on pursuing primary education in college next year...

I imagine everyone, at some point in their lives, day dreams about going on an amazing adventure volunteering in another country. Experiencing new cultures, languages, and people. Imagine how good it would feel, getting the opportunity to help those who need it. And now I have the chance to do just that. After years of considering volunteering abroad, but being held back by age or cost, I’ve finally found a program that is attainable.

The IVHQ
The IVHQ is an organization that funds volunteer programs all over the world. Having almost 100,000 volunteers go through their program since 2007, the IVHQ is the world’s leading volunteer travel organization. With 40+ destinations and 200+ projects, they provide impactful and affordable volunteer abroad programs. From animal conservation to building homes, they have it All.

The Project
With my love of teaching, I knew I wanted to work with kids. After browsing the projects and destinations, I fell in love with Bali and decided on teaching English. Along with the rich culture, the Balaniese people are so lovely and welcoming.

In Ubud, Bali, I will have the opportunity to strengthen the local community through English language education. I will spend three weeks working with other volunteers in a class of young Balinese students, teaching English, and other concepts. As well as inspiring them to continue learning. With the rise of the tourism industry in Bali, having a basic understanding of English, gives them a huge advantage for future job prospects.

The Cost
Although IVHQ is much more affordable than other organizations, it’s still pretty expensive. I will have to pay a $300 admissions fee, $715 program fee. As well as roughly $1,500 for extra fees. I could reach my goal if 50 people donate $50.

Admissions Fee- $300
The admissions fee secures my spot in the program, provides volunteer training through IVHQ, and a personalized program guide.

Program Fee- $715
The program fee includes accommodation in volunteer housing, airport pick-up, orientation, meals and 24/7 in-country support.

Extra Costs- $1,500
I will need to pay for a visa, flights, travel insurance, vaccinations, criminal, background check, and in-country trips.

What You Can do to Help
By donating funds, I will get the chance to share the amazing education that i’ve had, here in America,  with children who don’t have access to it. The education that most of us take for granted.  By donating, you’d make a positive impact on many children’s lives. Knowledge is power, and you’d be giving them the power to take control of their lives; to learn and grow into the best versions of themselves. And someday have a job that will support a good, and healthy life.

Along with changing their lives you’d also change mine. I love my parents but I can’t depend on them for things like college, or fancy vacations. If I want something done I have to put on my big-girl pants and make it happen. As cheesey as it sounds, I want to make the world a better place. And this is one way I can do that without depending on them.  I’d get to change lives, and see the world.

If you can’t donate, it would be so helpful to share their story, and link to this website (gofundme.com/english-for-Bali). Spreading the word can really make a difference. Thanks!

My trip depends on how much money I can raise.  Your contribution would mean the world to me and the children in Bali.

Thanks, Jada.
