England U16's Angling Trust Shore Team

Hi, my name is Paul and I am the manager of the England Under 16's Shore Angling Fishing Team.

I have the privilege and responsibility of managing and coaching the teams for 2024. This year, along with my assistants managers, I will be leading the England U16's teams to the Home Nations in Montrose, Scotland and the World Championships in Wexford, Ireland.

Our current crop of boys and girls have been through a tough selection process, which includes the Angling Trust Talent Pathway 2-day event, and selection days.

To be able to represent your country is a privilege that not many achieve. Our young people not only learn to work together as a strong team, they foster a pride in wearing an England shirt, the face of a nation in something they love. A pride that builds confidence, self-esteem and respect that can move with them as they grow into young adults in our communities.

As I’m sure you will appreciate, the cost of sending any team on international duty can soon mount up and we do not have any substantial financial support. We are reliant on donations to help with the costs as it is left to the Parents/Guardians to foot the bill.

We have the costs of travelling to each venue including costs of accommodation prior to the championships to practice the venues. Along with the accommodation and costs of competing in each championships, each team member purchases all their own equipment to compete at the highest level.

We are looking for kind donations to help towards the cost of travel and accommodation for our England U16 team’s participating in Scotland and Ireland this year. Any and all donations would be very much appreciated, by every member of the England U16's shore team, and help these dedicated youngsters towards their goal of winning Gold for England.
