Engineering Leaders

Village Schools is a non-profit organization that has partnered with villages in Tanzania, Malawi, and Zambia to spread the Gospel through education.  The village of Igoda, Tanzania, with Village Schools, has built a leadership college to train Tanzanians to be teachers and administrators for secondary schools across the country.  Village Schools has subsequently partnered with Colorado School of Mines students to teach technical skills that the Tanzanian students can use in their home country.  This program has allowed passionate Mines students to practice sustainable community development through science, engineering, and technology.

Village Schools has a vision to teach leadership skills focused on service, just as Jesus taught.  The college at Igoda is producing strong leaders to teach, manage and lead Tanzania but they need help.  The way I can help is to use the Mines education I have received to teach others and demonstrate the servant-love of Christ to the students in Igoda. 

One of my tasks will be to set up a design lab with computers, 3-d printers, and various power and hand tools and teach the students how to bring their ideas to reality.  I will also be working on designing a localized internet (called and intranet) for access to e-textbooks and video tutorials on a myriad of educational topics.  One of my personal goals is to also start a weekly Bible study on campus which currently doesn’t exist.  All of these goals are below an overarching goal to mentor the students and ultimately to show them the love of Christ. 

 I am looking to the Lord for financial blessing this summer and I am asking that you partner with me to be that blessing. 

I am asking for your support of $15 towards this cause. My entire budget is $1500 which will cover my airfare, room and board. 

I will need to be fully funded by April 20th, I ask that you prayerfully consider donating before then!

Since my graduation from high school, I have been on a search for the things God has planned for my life.  As I have learned to relate, love, and meet people where they’re at, my desire to go into the world and live the Good News has been fueled.  Through this God has shown me that if we, as Christians, believe Jesus is Lord and is the last hope for people on Earth, then nothing else matters.
