<div>Update 9/2/26
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The website has been paid for, including the domain name and hosting of the site. An additional guidance fee was incurred.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We're looking to reimburse Elle, a DSP recipient, who covered most of the costs for this, and Robert, a low-income disabled worker, who covered additional costs. If you have capacity, your assistance would be greatly appreciated!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>---
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We're a campaign to end Partner Income Testing. This is the rule that takes away or reduces your Centrelink income if you have a partner.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It needs to end. That's what our campaign is for.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This rule belongs in the 1950's - when a male breadwinner funded the household and the wife kept home.
</div>
<div>It is ableist - taking away disabled people's only chance at financial autonomy.
</div>
<div>It is a significant risk factor for DV - despite the government's purported aims to eliminate this scourge.
</div>
<div>It takes away your money even if you don't receive a cent of your partner's income - effectively blaming you for something not under your control.
</div>
<div>It strains or even destroys relationships - by forcing one partner to be financially responsible for the other.
</div>
<div>A single income does not work in this day and age - when even dual-income households struggle with the cost of living.
</div>
<div>It coerces dependency - forcing you to beg your partner for coffee money.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Telling your stories will enable us to help end this oppressive rule. And a website is the heart of our campaign.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We tried creating a website ourselves using free tools.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We failed.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We may be able to recruit volunteers in the future to help, but we want to get this campaign started as soon as possible.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That's why we're soliciting donations for a website. We received a quote of $1200-$1500. [Update 9/2/26: it ended up being $1500 plus $220 for additional costs]
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Basically, your donations make this site possible.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This campaign doesn't happen unless we make it happen, and this website is key. Donate today and you will see this campaign spring into action.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Can't afford to donate? No problem. Please consider sharing this or leaving a supportive comment.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
