Fundraising continues as we are underway planning Laurie's memorial luncheon to be held on Jan 25th at 2pm at The People's Church in Pinckney (500 W. Main Street). Thank you to all who have donated so far! Our heartfelt appreciation to you all!! With this fundraiser we have been able to place her obituary, secure the church and pay for catering for the luncheon. Any additional funds will be used to pay for a memorial bench or tree to be placed at Pathfinder. If you could, please share this GoFundMe to your FB page :)

As many of you know, Laurie lost her battle with cancer 2 days ago, early Christmas morning. Thank you to all who have donated on her behalf. The funds raised will go toward her memorial service in January. As she does not have parents, children, or a spouse, and has no arrangements in place to pay for such services, we are still needing funding. Any amount you can give is immensely appreciated. On behalf of Laurie, I thank you. You all meant the world to her. And I know her absence will be felt by all of us for a very long time to come.
**Nov 2019- Hello friends and family of Laurie. My name is Shawn Elmy. I am a long-time friend of Laurie's and have been asked to take over this GoFundMe account on her behalf.
As you know, Laurie's health has been declining over the past few months. Her 5 year run with stage 4 breast cancer has culminated in liver failure. Laurie's support team (made up of a few of her close friends, including me, and her brother, Ferris) is gathering resources as she is still in need. She is being moved to a location that has more round-the-clock care as well as hospice care.
Please keep Laurie in your thoughts and prayers as she makes this last transition. And I would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to all of you for supporting her throughout her journey. She means the world to us, and I know she couldn't have made it as far as she has without all of your support and love.
