On Friday, April 10th, our dad was transferred to hospice of davidson county after several weeks in the hospital.
As of today, he is not doing well and hospice is saying it’s just a matter of time.
We wish that he could have been surrounded by all the people who love him but due to the current virus outbreak that was not possible and many people (including children and grandchildren) were not able to see him or say goodbye.
We are hoping to have a small service where his family and close friends can have a moment to say goodbye and get closure and pay respects to a man who was loved by so many.
Our dad worked hard for many years as a diesel mechanic... but when he was put out of work he lost his life insurance & unfortunately did not qualify for a new policy. (Due to illnesses).
We have called around and the base pricing for a small service, casket, vault and plot would be around $8,000-$10,000 but we have found a service who will do everything for us for $6000.
We (his children) have some money to put toward it, but not enough to cover all the expenses.
We know that times are hard for many right now and understand that some people may not be able to help, but please know that any help is appreciated from the bottom of our heart.
Our dad done so much for so many people & we are hoping to give back just a little by giving him a proper goodbye.
Please continue to say a prayer for his kids, brothers and sisters, and other close friends and family who loved him dearly as we go through some very tough days in the future!
