<div>Irish greyhound racing makes no profit so without Irish funding it would close!

<div>Without this Govt funding; the Irish breeding of dogs would scale right down - English racing would require the surplus Irish raced dogs as it reports a shortage - but without the 6000 imports each year to fill the races we estimate English greyhound racing would close down within 3 to 4 years as tracks would not be able to replace their retired dogs due to a lack of greyhounds to fill their demand.
