Why Israel?
Before every new year I pray for a word or phrase for the upcoming year. 2017 has been marked by this phrase: Be radical. In July 2017, I became a prayer partner for a ministry called "School of the Seers" and also joined their school with the same name.
In the past two months, the school has been focusing on the cross and the person of Jesus. No concentration on spiritual gifts or ministry, etc. Soley on the cross. It has been a time of re-examining and rediscovering my relationship with Him. The mere contemplation on Jesus' love has been so overwhelming and refreshing that I have ended up crying in the grocery aisle, at my work desk and in my car.
Over the past two weeks, there have been multiple confirmations of me going on this trip. Even a simple coffee hangout turned into this person stating "You're going to Israel in November, right?" They knew nothing about this trip.
Yesterday, I parked behind a vehicle with this license plate:
2 Timothy 1:7 states, "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline."
I have been overwhelmed about how much He has taught me in the past four weeks and how much more is to come. I keep hearing Him say, "Go for it! You need to know me in a deeper way, so I can send you out."
What's Happening
From November 2-15, 2017, I will be joining a ministry folks to "encounter the heart of God in a new way, through the eyes of the Jewish people. Meet the Jewish people who live in the land, learn from them, hear their hearts, their stories, worship with them, and see scripture from the Hebrew mindset."
There will be teachings, worship sets and short tours. All of the specific details can be found here: Israel Trip
Use of Money
Israel Trip Payment: $3,240
Plane Tickets*: ~$700-1,000
Possible Other Expenses*: ~$250
GoFundMe Fees: ~8% Fee
*I am correctly looking at flights from Chicago or New York City to Tel Aviv. It is significantly cheaper, I will either take a bus or car to Chicago or a cheap flight to NYC to help cut costs.
