Dear Supporters,

For over 25 years, our church, Methodist Church Nigeria (English Section) Ofatedo, Osun State, Nigeria, has been a gathering place for worship and growth. It has been a beacon of faith, love, and community, where we’ve shared life’s highs and lows, prayed together, supported one another, and grown in faith.

Seventeen years ago, we bought a piece of land and began the journey of building a permanent place of worship. In those early days, we met under canopies every Sunday. It wasn’t easy, but we would still come together to joyfully set up every Sunday morning and take down after service. Although we have always been a small community, we pressed on with the vision of building a house for God, but we are yet to complete this building.

Over the years, we’ve watched the structure slowly take shape through the immense and unwavering contribution of our parents’ generation. As it stands now, some of the elders who began this work have now passed on, with others retiring from active work. This made a new generation- millennials and Gen Z- step in with a fresh commitment to see this project through, as we are a small congregation.

Recently, a heavy rainstorm destroyed the church roof, and the Engineers have recommended that the entire roofing system be replaced. This setback has added to the already unfinished state of the building, and with the current economic challenges in Nigeria, it’s become clear that we can’t do this alone. This is why we are asking for your help.
