Hello, my name is Yuriko Tse Shotter, and I am raising funds for the foster child I mentor's education. I have been regularly meeting with the same foster child for the last three years. This year my foster child transferred to a private school to better serve their educational needs. The cost to their foster family is $7,500 / school year (50% of the regular tuition). I am starting this fundraiser to raise the funds needed for their education now and in the future. The funds raised will go into a 529 Educational Savings Plan which can be used for K-12 educational expenses as well as for college.

I cannot think of a better way to support this child that has been through more than any child should go through than to help fund their education. Through no fault of their own, my foster child is not fully up to par with all of their grade level expectations. For this reason as well as others, it is crucial that they receive an education that will help them to succeed in their future.

I GREATLY appreciate everyone who contributes to my fundraisers, and separately out of my own funds I do the following:

1. Run a Weekly Drawing (5 Winners Each Week) the earlier you donate, the better chance you have of winning a prize before the end of the fundraiser (if I don't know you I need your address to mail you your prize)

2. Give Repeat Donator Gifts to Everyone who donates who have also donated to my fundraisers in the past (or donates at least $100 to this one this year)

3. Send a Birthday Card to everyone donates and who shares their birthday and address with me (I started these fundraisers 8 years ago as a Facebook birthday fundraiser, and so I like to celebrate everyone's birthday who was kind enough to help me celebrate my own by making a contribution.)

4. Give a Package of Special Japanese Cat Treats to everyone who tells me they have a cat & gives me their address (For the 1st five years of my fundraisers, my fundraisers benefitted the rescue organization where I got my senior cat, so this is something special that I like to continue to share with my contributors).

The last 2 years, the most common donation amount to my fundraisers has been $100.
