<div>More than a 1/4 of a million healthcare fundraisers are started every year on GoFundMe.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Fewer than 12% are funded.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That’s because, like everything else these days, you have to have a marketing plan for your healthcare alternatives. You need PR, early sponsors, and goodwill ambassadors who will share your campaign. You have to have an AGENDA.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I'm in the business of systems-change work, and am doing my part to fix a system is so fundamentally broken that it means that millions of people aren’t getting healthcare every year.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But, that work is slow and it won't happen fast enough for my friend. Today, you can help start a conversation.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Earlier this year, Brett Harvey was diagnosed with Crohn’s and enterocolitis.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Over the last nine months, he’s lost more than 40 pounds, and has become a whisper of his former self. He’s been unable to work for months, leaving his family to care for him and support the household, a role he’s taken very seriously for the entirely of his life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Out of respect, we’re not sharing current photos.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Nor will we be detailing the surgical procedures that are coming, or the specific needs of his family’s survival.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This isn’t their fault.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is a systemic issue.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our healthcare system is so badly damaged that people’s lives and livelihoods depend on the charity and goodwill of others.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Your donation helps to ensure that this family won’t be quiet about that.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Because we won’t change anything by staying silent about it.
