Empower ISL Volunteers to Serve Globally
Tax deductible
For the past 30 years International Service Learning has supported the goals of undergraduate healthcare focused students and faculty (whom we call our Volunteers) as they render much needed healthcare to the underserved all over the world. In those 30 years we have mentored over 40,000 students through our programming, with a good majority of those students transitioning into professions in healthcare. Our appeal for funding is to support those healthcare focused students who cannot afford the airfare, nor the program cost to serve others internationally. From years of experience with students pre/post-trip, we have seen that those that have had what we call "The International Healthcare Experience" are more culturally competent, more caring and understanding of the issues associated with access to healthcare, and are more engaged in their programs of study as they see the differences that they can make as a future healthcare professional. We know that it is challenging to be a healthcare focused student that is seeking an opportunity to shadow or to have a "hands-on experience" so we are motivated to make those dreams come true by creating this opportunity. Know that your support will be given to students in the form of mini-scholarships of $500-$1000 to help with travel/program costs! We greatly appreciate your support for these future healthcare providers who someday may be caring for you and/or a friend or a family member!
