HEAT, Housing Advocacy Empowerment Team, is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit housing counseling agency incorporated in Pennsylvania with pending approval by The National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling (www.homeownershipstandards.org).
Heat was established in 2024 by a leadership team with deep
experience in social programs, public-service law, government, policy,
processes and technology, who have come together to establish a unique comprehensive counseling organization that will start in
Philadelphia, PA and operate at a national level.
Though HEAT is a new nonprofit its leadership team, technology model,
and founding board of directors have:
• Extensive experience and expertise in housing counseling,
counseling technology education services, and public-policy law
• Proven track record of success in empowering individuals and
families to achieve homeownership
• Commitment to delivering high-quality, impactful programs that
create positive change within the community
• Collaborative technology used by the largest financial
institutions, federal, state and quasi-governmental agencies
and that has been used to support numerous consumer relief
programs over the past 25 years including being the only
technology solution ever named in a US Department of Justice
Consent Order, the landmark National Mortgage Settlement,
as the model tech solution to provide aid to homeowners
nationwide during the foreclosure crisis of the Great Recession
There will be particular focus of delivering to low-to-moderate-income
residents and persons in underserved markets to fulfill their dreams of
homeownership.
With our extensive experience and unwavering commitment to financial
literacy, homeownership education, and counseling, HEAT stands ready
to contribute to this transformative initiative and create a lasting impact
in communities across the nation.
