<div>Proposal to Develop Table Tennis Programs in Schools

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I am writing to propose a simple and cost-effective solution to address the shortage of sports facilities in some Chicago schools. As a lifelong racquet sports enthusiast and the owner of a tennis coaching business in Chicago, I am passionate about introducing young people to the benefits of sport.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>As a way of giving back to my community in Rogers Park, I established a small Table Tennis club at the Loyola Park Fieldhouse. I personally purchased tables and have been providing introductory lessons to beginner players. This initiative has proven to be an accessible and engaging way to get people involved in sports.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>My proposal has two key objectives. First, it aims to introduce school-aged children to an easily accessible sport that fosters confidence and encourages continued participation in physical activities, including other racquet sports. Table Tennis is a sport in which players can quickly improve, providing an immediate sense of accomplishment and motivation to continue playing.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Second, this program is designed to create more opportunities for girls to participate in sports. Throughout my coaching career, I have observed that many young women hesitate to take up racquet sports due to concerns about their skill level and fear of looking inexperienced. This is an unfortunate yet significant barrier to participation. By introducing girls to a sport like Table Tennis in a supportive environment, we can help them build the confidence to play and compete alongside both boys and girls.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>To initiate this program, I propose launching it in two schools. We would supply the necessary equipment, including tables, and provide basic instruction to both students and school staff. This would allow the program to be self-sustaining and integrated into the school's daily activities. Table Tennis tables are highly versatile, as they can be easily folded and stored when not in use, making them ideal for schools with limited space.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>The tables we propose to donate must be durable, and they cost $2200 each. <strong>I propose to donate 3 tables per school and we would launch this initiative to two schools.</strong>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this proposal further and explore potential partnerships to bring this program to life. Thank you for your time and consideration and donation.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Sincerely,

</div>

<div>Robert Owens,
