Empower Boston's Youth Through Welding Initiatives

DID YOU KNOW
2.4% of 15-19-year-olds deal with conduct disorders which can affect their education and result in criminal behavior.

WITH YOUR HELP
Support and donations can change the lives and trajectory of youth who are currently or at risk of behavioral conduct disorders by gaining life-skills and welding techniques of various trades in the industry through our program.

CHANGE IS POSSIBLE
Here at My Sister’s Child, we promote engagement through exposure, growth through involvement, and wealth through financial education.

By uniting our efforts, we can address the epidemic of behavioral disorders affecting various communities in Boston. The transformation of our youth begins with a shift in the mindset of adults.

Support our Flagship Event so that we can observe the potential in offering our youth alternatives to what statistics describe as limitations on opportunities, which can lead to fulfilling adult lives.

This program is aimed towards helping guide the youth in learning welding techniques and skills for opportunities that will allow them to support themselves, their households, and their communities. Our goal is to empower through awareness, curiosity, and engagement.

With the support of the requested funds, we aim to develop a comprehensive program that will soon allow MSC the means and methods to provide education, training, and intern opportunities tailored for at risk youth between the ages of 15-22.

This endeavor will not only enhance their vocational capabilities but also instill a sense of purpose and direction in their lives.

I believe in this project wholeheartedly because, I too have faced challenges in finding my way as a youth in the city of Boston. Fast forward, I am a union member of the Ironworkers, MWBE small business owner of a welding company, founder of a newly nonprofit focused on at-risk-youth, and a passionate mother of five who has definitely had my share of hard times.

I am now committed to paying it forward by contributing to the closure of gender, racial, and wealth disparities that have persisted for far too long.

Warm Regards,
My Sister's Child
