Hi! My name is Jawaher, I’m a 21 year old Qatari trans girl and a refugee in the UK. At 19, I sought asylum fleeing familial and systemic abuse, as Qatar criminalizes the existence of trans/queer people, subjects us to torture and imprisonment, and leaves us unprotected from honor killing. My asylum was accepted in April of 2024 and after spending 2 years of my life being on hold by the asylum system and then pushed into homelessness, it’s only this summer where I was finally able to find stability and start my healing and recovery from CPTSD and be able to continue to take steps towards building my life.

With this GoFundMe, I’m here to ask my community and allies to empower my transition, as realistically no matter how hard I work, I won’t be able to attain my medical transition such as facial feminization surgery or breast augmentation any time soon, probably not even in the next 5 years. I’ve known for sure I wasn’t cis since I was 15 and have identified as trans femme since 2020. I socially transitioned and then detransitioned against my will in Qatar, until escaping and living my truth as the woman I am and starting HRT march of 2023, making me a year and 8 months (as of November 2024) on estrogen!

Anything donated will be going into my medical transition which is:

⁃ FFS (15-30k£ or more)

⁃ Breast augmentation (4-8k£)

⁃ Smaller gender affirming care like laser hair removal (remaining funds)

The price ranges depending on what country and type of surgery I get, which I’m still in the process of researching. Having a budget should help me narrow down my options. Nothing is too small of a donation as anything helps.
